Bad Clowns
Coulrophobia - Meaning fear of clowns.
The story behind the bad clown series.
_ If you were like me
as a child you grew up with a fear of clowns. Which is unofficially
named Coulrophobia. No matter how menacing they were to this day one of
my all time favorite movies will forever be "Killer Clowns from Outer
Space." Which I would never miss on TV as a child; I would watch it with
my older brother.
As a Child I had received hand-me-downs from my cousin which included one complete clown bed set and one clown lamp. I remember thinking If I can't see them they can't see me, probably birthed from the childhood misconception of, "where did Terra go?" ..When I would cover my eyes. At some point I do remember breaking the lamp on purpose so it would be later be removed from my room for good.
I think the fear was unjustified I never really had any contact with clowns.... Except one birthday party. Years went on and the world seemed brighter clowns had been far out of memory. At Age 11 I went to the carnival and there was a balloon animal tying clown. I then realized they still really- kinda- creeped me out. My cousin, however, wanted an animal... I hesitantly got in line and learned the skill of balloon animals. (I think the intent was to infiltrate the clowns from the inside from learning their trade) Well, I can make a dog and sword, close enough.
To me clowns will probably always have that dark side and I give you the Coulrophobia series I plan to add to as time goes on.
